Institute of Keshan disease
, the former Department Of Keshan Disease In Harbin Medical
University, opened in April of 1964. It is set up by professor
Weihan Yu ,an outstanding Keshan disease expert, educationist
, honorary president of HMU, member of the Chinese Academy
of Enginering ,who is playing an active role in the reseach
and development of the university. The total construction
area of the institute is 3200 square meters. The institute
has 270 pieces of various equipments, worth 2.47 million yuan.
There are 9 professors and 3 associate professors among a
total of 30 staff members. Of this faculty, one is member
of the Chinese Academy of Enginering, and 3 are doctoral student
supervisors. Institute of Keshan disease is composed of the
department of disease observation, the department of Basic
Medical Sciences, the department of clinical medicine, research
room baout Lifestyle Diseases and room about administration.
Since China resumed its graduate education system in 1978,
the institute has admitted over 40 master's and 43 doctoral
students into cardiology program, of whom 37 have earned their
Master's degree and 32 have been awarded a doctoral degree.
The current doctoral candidates are 11.The institute has postdoctoral
program which has admitted 3 postdoctoral researchers. |
