The University has defined the attributes that medical students should exhibit upon graduation. The attributes are made up of professionalism, knowledge level and practical skills that are also closely linked with quality characteristics of medical professionals.

Professionalism

Knowledge level

1、A highly developed ability to learn medicine-related subjects such as mathematics, chemistry, and behavioral sciences and humanities.

2、A highly developed ability to learn the human body¨s normal structure, functions and psychological state in different life stages.

3、A highly developed ability to learn principles of health education, disease prevention and obviation, and relevant knowledge and methods of epidemiology.

4、Mastery of the causes of common diseases and the influencing factors, pathogenesis, clinical symptoms, diagnosis and treatment principles.

5、A highly developed ability to learn basic characteristics of Chinese medicine and basic principles of its practical diagnosis and treatment.

6、Familiarity with guidelines and regulations of national health policies.

Practical skills

1、A highly developed clinical ability for history taking systematically and normatively, physical examination and mental analysis, diagnosing and treating common diseases.

2、A strong ability of clinical thinking and classifying and identifying the causes and mechanism of diseases, and working effectively on acute, difficult and serious symptoms.

3、A solid ability of fundamental skills in basic biomedicine and scientific research and practice.

4、Capability of following evidence-based theory to practice and perfect diagnosis and treatment methods, and choose proper means of diagnosis and treatment.

5、Well-developed communication skills and a professional approach to meeting the needs of both patients and doctors.

6、A strong command of foreign language and computer skills.
