Education and Teaching

At present, there are 9228 students at HMU, among whom are 1593 graduate students, 4821 undergraduate students, 2197 students for adult education. Since the foundation of HMU, she has cultivated over 40 thousand students (excluding Daqing Branch School), who are all over China and  the world. Some of them have already been renowned scholars.

There are eleven undergraduate programs at HMU, namely, basic medicine (7-year), clinical medicine (7-year, 6-year Japanese medical class, 6-year Russian medical class, 5-year), preventive medicine, stomatology, anesthesiology, medical imaging, nursing, pharmacy, biotechnology, public affairs management, law (for Health).

There are 4 first-rate programs for the conferral of doctor's degree (basic medicine, clinical medicine, public health, preventive medicine and biomedicine), 41 second-rate and 50 third-rate programs for the conferral of doctor's degree, and 55 programs for the conferral of master’s degree. There are 5 postdoctoral mobile stations and 2 postdoctoral working stations.

There are 1 national key discipline, 20 provincial key disciplines, 1 incubation base of national key labs in biomedicine co-established by the ministry and the province, 4 key labs of the ministry and the province, and 7 key labs of the provincial higher education.

There is 1 discipline for national specially-invited professors and 22 disciplines for provincial specially-invited professors.
